Jerry M. Seiler , 79, of Algoma passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2012. He was born July 8, 1933 to the late Leo and Grace (Mackey) Seiler. Jerry served in the United States Army. On October 19, 1979 he married Bonnie Barbiaux at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Algoma. He was a well-known businessman in Algoma. He owned and operated Seiler Tire for over 30 years. He truly enjoyed working and visiting with people and often thought about all of his faithful customers. He enjoyed all sporting events including the Packers, Kolberg Baseball, the Algoma Penguins, and Algoma high school sports. In addition, Jerry enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie; one sister Alice Clouse, Indianapolis; and one sister-in-law Nancy Seiler. Jerry is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rita Barbiaux, Jonas (Lucille) Barbiaux, Dorothy Heim, and Marilyn (Tom) Melchior; a nephew Danny (Marci) Seiler, and niece Linda (Dan) Christman, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Jerry was known to many as "Uncle Jerry".
Jerry was preceded in death by one brother Dave Seiler; and brothers-in-law Jim Clouse, Charles Barbiaux, Donald Barbiaux, Anthony Barbiaux, Maurice Babriaux, and Lawrence Heim; and one niece Jenny Heim.
Visitation will be held at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, 1617 Flora Ave., Algoma, on Sunday December 16, 2012 from 3 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday December 17, 2012 at St Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tom Moldenhauer officiating. There will be a military service at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. led by Pastor John Moll. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery with full military rites. Online condolence messages may be expressed here .
Bonnie would like to thank everyone who has sent cards and visited with Jerry, also those who took Jerry to his many doctors appointments, it meant a great deal to him. She would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Bellin Cancer Unit and Unity Hospice for the care and concern they showed to Jerry. Thank-you Jerry for all the wonderful years and memories we had together. You will never be forgotten, you were the best!! Love Bonz
