Josephine "Josie" La Crosse, 98, formerly of Casco, passed away at Oak Creek Assisted Living in Luxemburg on November 22, 2012. She was born March 10, 1914 in the town of Carlton to the late Edmund and Anna (Hamachek) Melera. On May 13, 1930 she married Joseph Hoffman. After his death, she married Fabian La Crosse on October 4, 1945. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2001. She was employed at the Plumbers Woodwork in Algoma, until her retirement. Josie enjoyed baking, and sharing her baked goods with her many neighbors and friends.
Josie is survived by her two children Marie DeJardin, Luxemburg, and John (Carol) Hoffman, Green Bay; one step-daughter Geraldine Delebreau, Kewaunee; 6 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; as well as many many great grandchildren, step- great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and step-great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one step-sister-in-law Florence Vlasak, and many nieces and nephews.
Josie was preceded in in death by one grandson, one step-son, one step-daughter, four sisters, one step-brother, one son-in-law, and two step-son-in-laws.
Friends and family may call at Holy Trinity Catholic Church from 9 to 10:30 on Monday November 26, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 with Fr. Milton Suess officiating. Burial will take place at St. Peter Cemetery, Lincoln. Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home of Casco is assisting the family. Online condolence messages may be expressed here .
