Agnes “Aggie” Berger, 92, passed away at a local hospital on December 17, 2020. The angels guided her up the staircase to heaven to join her late husband, Lawrence and resume their life-long partnership.
Agnes was born July 3, 1928 to the late Abraham and Adele (Vandervest) Theys. She married Lawrence “Shorty” Berger July 2, 1947 in Walhain.
Agnes was a hard worker from a young age and all through her adult life. She helped raise her younger siblings, was a factory worker and owned and operated a local bar / restaurant. Aggie and Shorty worked together and built their business by serving the best broasted chicken and delicious homemade desserts in the area.
Agnes is survived by her daughter, Elaine Daul, Green Bay; two grandchildren, Penny Dier (partner Joe) and Scot (Nicole) Daul; three great-grandchildren, Bethanie (Erik) Wanless, Taylor, and Dylan Daul. Agnes is further survived by one sister, Angeline Krerowicz; four brothers, Clem (Mary Ann) Theys, Joseph Theys, Francis (Ruth) Theys, and Abraham Theys Jr; and a sister-in-law Jean Theys.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence; son-in-law, Patrick; her parents; parents-in-law, Louis and Cornelia (Johnson) Berger; her siblings, Dora (Edwin) Wery, Marie (Raymond) Jeanquart, Celia McKee, Edward (Ethereda) Theys, Raymond Theys, Laura Theys, and Harold Theys; in-laws, Alden LeRoy, Frank Krerowicz, Sylvia Theys, Kathy Theys, Willard Naze, and Harry McKee. Also preceded in death by all of Lawrence’s siblings and their spouses. Alice (Joe) DeJardin, Henry (Josie) Berger, Eli (Mabel) Berger, Harris (Norma) Berger, Elmer (Josie) Berger, Rose (Kermit) Conard, Lucy (Joseph) Virlee, Madeline (Louie) Rass, Louis (Margie) Berger, Annie (Harry) LeCloux, Andrew (Victoria) Berger, Arlene (Hamlin) Mertens, and Evelyn (Richard) Mertens.
Due to COVID-19, there will be a PRIVATE gathering for immediate family only. Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Live-streamed will begin on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 starting at 1:15, the funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm with Fr. Alvan Amadi officiating.
