Anna Mary (Massart) Berger

March 30, 1920 — May 13, 2014

Anna Mary Berger, 94, of Two Rivers, formerly of Algoma, passed away on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers. She was born on March 30, 1920 to the late Fred and Flora (Monfils) Massart. On September 4, 1940 she married Harold Berger at St. Hubert Catholic Church in Rosiere. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2003. Anna worked at Katches for 23 years and then at Algoma Hardwoods until she retired in 1985. Anna enjoyed holidays, her favorite being Christmas. She also enjoyed being a member of the Golden Agers, the Senior Center in Two Rivers, the Rosary Society in Algoma, playing Sheepshead, and bus trips to the casino. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her grand-dog Copper.

Anna is survived by her daughter Pat (Don) DeWitt, Two Rivers; three grandchildren Kris (Mark) Ducat, Two Rivers; Kelli (Dean) Peterman, Manitowoc; Bill DeWitt, Two Rivers; seven great-grandchildren Nick DeWitt, Joe (special friend Allysa) Ducat, Ariel Ducat, Anna, Drew, and Kian Peterman, Allie DeWitt; one sister-in-law Claire Massart; as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters and brothers-in-law Lucy (Jerry) Baudhuin, Agnes (Joe) Tenor; one brother Norbert Massart, two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Donald (Emily) Berger, Adris (Mose) Bader, and one nephew Bob Baudhuin.

Visitation will be held at St Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, on Wednesday May 21, 2014 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. Tom Reynebeau officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Online condolence messages may be Shared here .

Anna's family would like to thank Holy Family Memorial Hospice staff and volunteers, and the staff of Hamilton Health Care Center for the care and compassion given to Anna.
