Bernard J. Granius , 82, of Luxemburg passed away Saturday May 16, 2015 at Anna's House, with his family at his side, after a battle with lung cancer. He was born February 24, 1933 in Namur to the late Henry and Mamie (Draize) Granius. He graduated from Brussels High School in 1950. In 1952 he married Mildred Jadin at St. Mary's of the Snow Catholic Church, in Namur. Bernard worked various jobs throughout his life in addition to farming for 27 years. Bernard was a great, loving husband and dad. He loved his grandchildren very much.
Bernard is survived by his wife Millie of 62 years; two children Pat Granius, Casco, and Roxie (Tom) Hilbert, Marshfield; four grandchildren Jason Granius, Chalonne (friend Dennis) Hilbert, Ryan (Jessa) Hilbert, and Connor Hilbert; two sisters-in-law Erma (Floyd) Sisel and Vida Jacobs and one brother-in-law Roland Englebert. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Kenneth (Ella Mae) Granius; father-in-law and mother-in-law Adam and Irene Jadin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Blanche (George) Jeanquart, Dick Jacobs, Carol Englebert; niece and nephews Mary Englebert, Perry Sisel, and Phil Jeanquart.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church, Brussels, on Wednesday May 20, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:30. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 with Fr. Tony Birdsall and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Entombment will take place at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home of Casco is assisting the family.
