Carol J. (Duerst) Kroening

November 26, 1935 — August 30, 2016

Carol Jean Kroening , age 80, of Forestville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 with her family by her side. She was born in Algoma on November 26, 1935 to the late Leo and Gertrude (Tebon) Duerst. On March 29, 1952, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Seiler. Together, they had six children. On June 23, 1983 she married Melvin Kroening in Kewaunee. Carol had many talents and was an amazing baker. Her home often smelled of the wonderful scents of her baked goods. She was known for her homemade baked beans, kolaches, and pepper nuts. She love gardening, canning and crafting, but more than anything, Carol loved her children unconditionally.

Carol is survived by her five children, Sandy (Dave Armstrong) Slagoski, Pat (Don) Moore, Roger Seiler, Debbie (Brian) Wendricks, and Mary (Rodney) Ullmann; grandchildren, Tammy, Audrey (David), Dianne, Linda (John), Jessica (Shane), Jeremiah (Holly), Sarah (Travis), Amanda (Chad), Isaiah, Joshua (Ashley), Ashley, and Justin; 13 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Stephanie, Trevor, Rob, Krista, Brycen, Brody, Kristin, Kaiden, Zoey, Alexa, Olivia, and Bryce, with one due in February; three great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty DeKeyser as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; a daughter in infancy; her parents; her sister, Myrtle Peterson; brothers, Edward Duerst, Sr., Raymond Duerst, and Mike Duerst; two nephews, Terry Peterson and Randy Duerst.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home in Algoma from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and again at Emanuels Lutheran Church (8612 Co. Rd. D, Forestville, WI 54213) in Kolberg on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 am on September 3, 2016 with Pastor John Seelman officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepard Mausoleum in Green Bay. Online condolences may be shared here .

Carol will be extremely missed by her family and friends.
