Caroline G. Corroy, 83, Green Bay, formally of Algoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 21, 2011 at Parkview Manor. She was born June 29, 1927 in Angelica Wisconsin to the late Ernest & Alma (Garbrecht) Kirchenwitz. In 1950 Caroline married Melvin Corroy in Algoma. He preceded her in death April of 1981.
Caroline had a beautiful voice and loved to sing, especially with the Sweet Adeline's singing group. She also had an exceptional artistic ability and was known for drawing side profiles. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her four sons Wyman (Jane) Ness, Algoma; Jeff (Karla) Ness, New Franken; Kevin (Dianne) Corroy, Florida; Ned (Barbara) Corroy, Appleton; eight granchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother Neil Kirchenwitz, New York; also many nieces and nephews. Caroline was preceded in death by one infant daughter Kim, her four sisters Norma Melchoir, Vanita Schmiling, Sarah Herning, and Verna Hanstedt; three brothers Alex, Boise, and Ivan Kirchenwitz.
Visitation will be at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, 1617 Flora Ave., Algoma from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday May 24, 2011. The prayer service will be on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St Paul's Lutheran Church from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roy Beyer officiating. Burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
