Daniel Lee Hudson , 63, of Casco peacefully passed away Aug. 9, 2016.
Dan was born on Feb. 13, 1953 to George and Carol (Schneider) Hudson of Algoma. He graduated from Algoma High School.
Dan married his love, Carla Romdenne, on Sept. 21, 1991 at St. Peter's Church in Lincoln. They would've been married 25 years this fall.
He worked at Global Optics until Dec. 2014 and started dialysis Jan. 2015. Dan battled a long journey with kidney disease and ended up losing his life to cancer. He previously received two gifts of life (kidney transplants): one from his wife Carla and another from an anonymous donor.
Dan was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Algoma and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and Badgers win. Dan had a gentle, humorous spirit and deeply cared for his family and friends. He liked to have fun and was immensely loved.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents George and Carol Hudson; brother David Hudson; and father-in-law Philip Romdenne.
Survivors include his wife Carla, daughter Chelsea and her special friend Ethan Salentine, son Jared, and special furry friends Cooper and Misty; sister-in-law Bonnie Hudson; niece Angie Hudson and Chloe and Addison Bair; nephew Elliott (Amanda) Hudson and Alice, George, Anna Rose; mother-in-law Virgil Romdenne; sisters-in-law Therese (Bob) Wagner and Clarice Rollin; brother-in-law Kevin Romdenne and special friend Lynnette Van De Hei; sister-in-law Loretta Smith and special friend Dave Krueger; brother-in-law Phil Romdenne and special friend Bonni Gauger; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma on Friday, August 12, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral Service will be at 6 p.m. with Pastor John Moll officiating. Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be shared here .
Carla and family would like to thank Drs. Ahuja, Smith and Grier, Bellin ICU Nursing Staff, Unity Hospice and DaVita Dialysis Center for all of their services and excellent care. A special thank you to all our family & friends who have been so supportive & always by our side.
Dan will be greatly missed and always remembered. He is an inspiration who taught us how to fight and never give up.
