Darel E. Hartwig

Darel E. Hartwig, 82, Kewaunee, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. He was born on September 21, 1940, to the late Edward and Myrtle (Richmond) Hartwig. Darel served as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and worked as a purchasing agent for Peterson Building. Darel was an outdoors person, with a cabin up north and land in Algoma, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Darel is survived by his son Brian (Tena) Hartwig, New Holstein; grandchildren, Kyle Hartwig (Megan Giese), Sheboygan, Kaleb Hartwig, New Holstein, Ethan Hartwig, (Aileen Funk) Milwaukee; great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Violet Hartwig; sister, Gloria Naze; sister-in-law, Harriet Hartwig; as well as by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Myrtle Hartwig, brother, Don Hartwig; sisters, Blanche DeFaut, and Agnes Langer; as well as by a nephew.

Visitation will take place at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Algoma, 1617 Flora Ave, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 10:00 am until Noon. A Funeral Service will be held at noon with Pastor Joel McKenney officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
