David Rice

L. David Rice, age 62 of Kewaunee died on Thursday, November 28, 2019 after complications due to surgery.  He was born on December 18, 1956 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Leonard and June (Hellwig) Rice.

David graduated from Winneconne High School in 1975 and then graduated from U.W. Platteville in 1983 with a degree in engineering.  He married Ilona Kostka May 28, 1983.

He started his own engineering and consulting business in Kewaunee in 1994 and later moved it to Luxemburg, WI where he was active in the business until retiring in March of 2017.

Dave and Ilona were active members of Community Congregational Church in Kewaunee. He had a strong faith and showed a selfless love and kindness to everyone he met.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife: Ilona; three children: LINDSAY (STEVE) KANE and their children: Jaxon and Ava, Seymour, WI;  SARA (ALEC) BELLING and their children: James, Henry and Adilyn, Denmark, WI; WILLIAM (MEGAN) RICE and their children: Colton and Weston, Denmark, WI; three siblings: Jane (Tom) Kinney, Sun Prairie, WI; William (Carol) Rice, Springfield, IL; Timothy Rice, Omro, WI; his mother-in-law: Ilona Kostka, Winneconne, WI and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was welcomed into heaven by his parents; his father-in-law: George Kostka and baby Rice.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 7 at Community Congregational Church, 502 Center St. Kewaunee, WI until 10:45 a.m.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. John Wallace officiating.  A lunch will follow the service at the Rice Engineering Building, 105 School Creek Trl.  Luxemburg, WI.

In lieu of flowers, all memorials will be donated to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
