Dean R Thiry

Dean R. Thiry , 88, of Casco, WI, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. He was born February 19, 1930, in Lincoln, WI, to the late Louis and Tillie (Bertrand) Thiry Sr. He graduated from Casco High School in 1947. On September 9, 1950, he married Verna DeBaker. They owned and operated the home farm until retirement in 1993 and then moved to the Village of Casco. He had several jobs besides farming. He worked at Bay Ship, Lesyne Aluminum and Green Bay Foods for many years. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Lincoln, all his life. He was also a member and treasurer of the Holy Name Society.

He was a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather. Also a hard worker and a handy man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed his craft shop and playing cards with his friends and watching sports, especially the Packers and Brewers.

He is survived by his wife, Verna of almost 68 beautiful years, one daughter Jean (Ken) Boucher, Casco, and two sons Ken (Terri) Thiry, Fish Creek, Ron (Lisa) Thiry, Kimberly, nine grandchildren, Amy (Rich) Balck, Brian (Marietta) Boucher, Ashley (Chris) Strunk, Nicole Thiry, Heather (Jeff) Paulis, Stacy Thiry, Stephanie (Jake) Long, Sarah (Sam) Pierre, and Hannah Thiry. seven great-grandhildren, Alex, Austin, Avery, Evan, Ian, Hollie and Luke. One sister-in-law Dorothy DeBaker. He is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Tillie Thiry Sr.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Evelyn) Thiry, Lawrence (Marcella) Thiry, Louis (Loretta) Thiry Jr.,; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita (Joe) Havel and Florence (Robert) Abts; father and mother-in-law Arthur & Minnie DeBaker; other in-laws, Doris (Alvin) Gillis, Gilbert DeBaker, Edsel DeBaker, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday May 13, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home - Casco. Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, May 14, 2018 from 9-11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church - Lincoln. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Edward Looney officiating. Entombment to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolences may be shared on the tribute wall.
