Debra L. Babcock, 71, Kewaunee, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. She was born on December 4, 1954, to the late Donald and Lorraine (Plansky) Schlies. She married Lawrence "Chip" Babcock.

She was a devoted animal lover whose heart belonged especially to her quarter horses, spending countless hours riding, training them. At home, Debi cherished her feline boys-Roscoe, Augustus, and Woodrow-who were constant companions and a source of comfort and joy. Debi was profoundly creative and artistic. Through her sketching and painting, she had a rare gift for storytelling without words, creating entire storybooks through images alone. Known for her sharp wit, Debi loved to joke and laugh with people. She will be deeply missed.

Debi is survived by her husband, Lawrence "Chip"; her daughter, Alisha Kuehl; grandchildren Aniyah Marie and Kingston Lawrence; two sisters and brothers-in-law Teri (David) Wessel, Kewaunee, Vicki (Russ) Castro, Long Lake; nephew Jessup (Jennifer) Schlies; great niece and nephew Hudson and Clara Schlies, Kewaunee; sister-in-law Lisa Schaller, Kewaunee; brother-in-law Rick Babcock, Kewaunee; three sisters-in-law Cindy (Richard) Krueger, Denmark, Sherry Babcock, Green Bay, Kim (Babcock) Pardowski, Oconto Falls; and her goddaughter Lola, Kewaunee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Dale Schlies; father-in-law and mother-in-law Elton and Pat Dohl; brother-in-law Ron Pardowski.

A visitation will take place at Kinnard Funeral Home, Kewaunee on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. A prayer service will take place at 2:30 p.m. with Fr. George Daniel officiating.
