Delores Mary (Steinhorst) Schleis

Delores Mary Schleis, age 89, of Kewaunee died on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.  She was born on March 15, 1933 in Kewaunee to the late Joseph and Pauline (Skarvan) Steinhorst.

She graduated from Kewaunee High School with the class of 1951.  She married Jacob Lester Schleis on June 8, 1955.

She was a life long member of Holy Rosary Parish.  She was always very active in her life and had many hobbies, including making wedding cakes, rag rugs, square dancing, playing cards, crafts and  camping and traveling. She always wanted  to learn new crafts and hobbies.

Delores held many jobs throughout her life time, including working at Leyse Aluminum Co., farming and raising family, Two Rivers Nursing Home, County Aging Resources, Kewaunee Bottling Co., Care Free Travel and Schleis Builders Inc.

Survivors include Jacob, her loving husband of sixty-seven years who was by her side all their lives together; one daughter: Mary Ann Pardowsky; two sons and daughters-in-law: Rodney and Julie Schleis; Peter and Terri Schleis all of Kewaunee; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Sr. Theresa Schleis

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob and Frances (Konop)  Schleis; a daughter-in-law, Diane Schleis, two sons-in-law: Mark Salzsieder and Mike Pardowsky a brother, Wilbert (Mary) Steinhorst.

Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church on Tuesday, August 9 until 10:45 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. James Dillenburg.  Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery
