Obituary

Diane Mae (Trever) Hansen, 87, was born to Harold and Nellie (Christensen) Trever on April 19, 1939, in Suring, Wisconsin. Diane attended school in Suring, where she met her future husband, Ralph Hansen. During their school years Ralph would make certain he always kept the seat open next to him, so Diane had a special place to sit on the school bus. Diane would graduate from Suring High School in 1957. In her senior yearbook her life quote was "Cure 'em or kill 'em, I'm going to be a nurse!" Those who knew Diane, recognized that the "or kill 'em" would be a direct reference to "kill 'em with kindness" for she had a gentle heart and kind spirit which led her into nursing. After High School she entered the Bellin Memorial Training School where she fulfilled her high school goal of becoming a Registered Nurse (RN).

On February 4, 1961, Diane would marry her high school sweetheart Ralph Hansen. They would remain together for over fifty-five years, until his death in October of 2016. Their union together would produce two children, Linda and Scott. Diane and Ralph settled into their permanent home in Howard, Wisconsin in 1965, where Diane would reside until she moved to Kewaunee, Wisconsin in 2021.

Along her way in life Diane would put her RN degree to good use. First as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay, and then working as an RN at Grancare Nursing Home in Green Bay for twenty-five years. Diane's heart for service was forged through her lifelong commitment to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Diane felt that a relationship with Christ was more than a Sunday church-going event, but was meant to define her character, life choices, and priorities in serving others. She would accomplish this service not only through her work as an RN, but as an integral part of Christian Women's Club, and with her involvement in Graceway Fellowship of Green Bay. Her gentle spirit defined the way she saw the people around her and the enduring relationships she would make throughout her life. Once a friend always a friend-from school classmates to dearly loved neighbors, to co-workers, and in her final years to those who worked at and lived with her at Paradise Estates in Kewaunee, Wisconsin.

Throughout her life Diane & Ralph enjoyed life together, whether taking a trip to the Holy land in the mid-1980s or getting together with friends for a night of Skip-Bo, Uno, or Rummikub. With her young grandchildren she played endless games of Candy Land. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and knitting-especially afghans which were made with love and given to each child and grandchild. She always made certain she recorded such timeless classics as "Barney & Friends" and "Lamb Chop's Play-Along" for her visiting grandchildren to watch.

She is survived by her children, Linda (David) Langer, Kellogg, ID; Scott (Louise) Hansen, Kewaunee, WI; grandchildren, Rebecca (Matt) Miracle, Post Falls, ID; Andrea (Jacob) Thomas, Robins, IA; Sarah (Jordan) Newton, Thompson, IA; Matthew (Kira) Langer, Kellogg, ID; Elizabeth (Tristan) Medina, Pinehurst, ID; Stephanie (Adam) Shanty, Nunica, MI; Brianna, (Derrick) Coleman, West Olive, MI; Katie (Will) Rutter, Northfield, MN. Great-grandchildren, Andrew and Aaron Hudson, Aidan, Avery, and Asher Miracle; Nathanael and Brielle Thomas; Madelynn, Bailey, and Derek Newton; Steven and Gwendolyn Langer; Ashlen, Addison, and Evelyn Shanty; Everly, Annalise, and Wesley Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Hansen; her parents Harold and Nellie Trever; and her two brothers Donald Trever and Richard (Dick) Trever.

A visitation will take place Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services, Kewaunee. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
