Edmund (Red) A. Treml, 88, of Casco passed away Thursday April 17, 2014 after a short illness with his family at his side. He was born August 21, 1925 to the late Englebert and Margaret (Kelnhofer) Treml. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. On June 22, 1949 he married Virginia (Jeanie) Koskubar at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1997. He, along with his wife, farmed in the Town of Casco. He was a member of the Casco American Legion. Edmund enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Edmund is survived by his four children Judy (Cletus) LeCaptain, Jim (Cheryl) Treml, Jeff (Mary) Treml, Jack Treml (special friend Tanya Guilette), all of Casco; grandchildren Chris LeCaptain, Jenny (Josh) Salentine, Josh (Shelly) Treml, Nicole (Moe) Neuzil, Andre Treml; great-grandchildren Megan, Caleb, and Molly Salentine; Sami, and Jacob Treml; Hailee, Sikoya, and Mavric Neuzil; and Ezekiel Treml; and Tanya's daughter Shawna. He is further survived by two brothers Tony (June) Treml, and Bob (June) Treml; two sisters Martha Karnopp, and Peggy Theys; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Edmund was preceded in death by his parents Englebert and Margaret Treml; wife Virginia; three brothers George (Mayme) Treml, Leo (Regina) Treml, and Leonard (Beatrice) Treml; three sisters Anna (Frank) Stodola, Gertrude (Dan) Arendt, and Dorothy (Joe) Stodola; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Harold Karnopp, Louis Theys, Mabel (Sylvester) Zuege, Louise (Alois) Ratajczak, and Lydia (Joe) Ratajczak.
Visitation will be held on Monday April 21, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, Casco, and again Tuesday morning at the funeral home until 10 a.m. The Veteran's Service will be held Monday evening at 6:15 p.m. and the parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco, with Fr.
