Edward J. Kalish, 77 of Kewaunee passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the home of his care giver Cheryl Massey. Edward resided in Kewaunee until the time of his illness. The strong military man he was, he fought hard for 7 months after being diagnosed with leukemia. He was born on May 11, 1944, to the late Edward and Evelyn (Dolyesh) Kalish in Chicago, IL.
Edward spent 2 years in the United States Army and many years in the Army Reserves. He was serving in the Philippines when his daughter Donna was born. After 54 years of only having communication with Donna, he finally had a very joyful meeting with her on Wednesday November 17th.
Ed is survived by his daughter Donna (Kelly) Prince, Orlando Florida; granddaughter Kira Prince; his neighbor, Michael (Lori) Bultman, Kewaunee. Also, his many loved cats. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation with family and friends will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Casco on Saturday December 4, 2021, from 10 am to 11 am. Funeral mass will follow at 11 am with Fr. Daniel Schuster officiating. Full military rites will follow outside of church. Burial will take place at King Veteran Cemetery.
