Esther B. Jeanquart, 86, formerly of Brussels, passed away at Algoma Long Term Care Unit on Tuesday February 5, 2013. She was born February 2, 1927 to the late Frank and Libby (Tebon) Gerondale. Esther married Norbert Jeanquart Sr. on December 29, 1943 at St. Hubert's Catholic Church in Rosiere. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2012. Together they farmed for 11 years. After retiring, they enjoyed their winters in Florida. Esther enjoyed cleaning, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Esther is survived by her children Dianne (Merle) Eskildsen, Sturgeon Bay; Norbert (Bonnie) Jeanquart Jr., Brussels; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren; 1 brother and 3 sisters-in-law Darrell (Della) Gerondale, Joyce Gerondale, and Alice Gerondale; as well as nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by an infant daughter Nancy, 3 brothers and 1 sister-in-law Harold Gerondale, Elmer Gerondale, and Alfred (Carol) Gerondale. Esther is further preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Wilfred (Laura) Jeanquart, Eddie (Anna Mae) Jeanquart, Alvina (Clem) Dhuey, and Mary Ann (Bud) Kirchman.
Visitation will be held at St. Francis / St. Mary Catholic Church in Brussels on Saturday February 9, 2013 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Pius Cotter officiating. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences can be shared here .
