Goldie Thiry, 94, Casco, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Algoma Long Term Care. He was born August 4, 1917 in the Town of Lincoln to the late Constant and Selina (Monfort) Thiry. He married Grace Laurent on September 6, 1938 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Lincoln.

Goldie worked as a dairy farmer and cattle buyer in the area for many years. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, his farm work and spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Goldie and Grace also spent many years as St. Nicks around the area, enjoying this very much.

Goldie is survived by his wife of 73 years, Grace; children, Mary Ellen (Ernie) Fameree, Casco, James (Diane) Thiry, Luxemburg, Randy (Sue) Thiry, Casco; grandchildren, Duane (Sherrie) Fameree, Diane (Mike) Agamaite, Danny Fameree, David Fameree, Dinah (Bret) Gygi, Genny Fameree, Debbie (Jeff) Bukouricz, Dawn Thiry (friend Chris), Scott Thiry (friend Kim), Denise (Randy) Bastien, Ben Brien (friend Terry), Trisha Thiry (fiance Robert), Anna (Jason) Dellise, Don (Chelsea) Brien, Travis Thiry; 25 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sisters-in-law, Emily Laurent, Elaine Laurent, Laura Thiry; a step sister-in-law, Eunice Spitzer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Constant and Selina Thiry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jule and Katherine Laurent; 2 grandchildren, Doreen Fameree, Jesse Thiry; one great grandson, Quincey Bastien; brothers and sisters, Gus Thiry, Elizabeth (Louie) Thayse, Bertha (Harold) Tabordan; step father, Pete Spitzer; step brother, Donals Spitzer; step sister, Jane (George) Pavlik; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Walter and Lucy Laurent, John and Laura Laurent, Alois Laurent, Howard Laurent, Virginia and Alvin Deprey, Betty and Joe Challe, Fern Mae and Ray Bouche.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at St. Peters Catholic Church, Lincoln from 9 to 11am. Funeral Mass to follow at 11am with Fr. Lee Kahrs and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Burial in St. Peters Cemetery.
