Harold Julian Baudhuin

February 23, 1927 — April 6, 2014

Harold Julian Baudhuin, age 87 Casco, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 23, 1927 in the town of Union, Brussels to Prosper and Mary (Virlee) Baudhuin. On October 19, 1946 he married Noreen Sisel at Holy Trinity Parish in Casco. She preceded him in death on March 24, 1986. On July 4, 1987 Harold married Joyce Drossart Sevcik at Holy Trinity Parish Casco. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2012.

Harold graduated from Brussels H.S. in 1944. Harold "learned farming from his Pa" and after his marriage to Noreen he farmed jointly with his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis and Agnes Sisel. He eventually bought their farm in Slovan and farmed there until his son bought the farm in 1986. He continued to be active with farm life and was proud to see the farm become a 5th Generation Century Farm. In the winters of his earlier farming career he also worked various factory night jobs. He did custom field work for neighbors for many years. Harold was a board member for the Slovan Cheese Factory and Slovan Elem. School. Harold was also a Dairyland Seed Dealer for over 30 years.

Harold retired from the Casco Post Office after 26 years as a rural letter carrier. He was a member of St. Adalbert Slovan and Holy Trinity Parish Casco. After his retirement he became a volunteer driver for Kewaunee County Human Services and joined the Casco Lions for a period of time.

Harold truly enjoyed time spent with his family. He handpicked a special birthday card for each of them. Holiday gatherings were treasured through the years as he watched his family grow.

Harold enjoyed traveling and took several trips with both Noreen and Joyce. One memorable trip was taken with the Belgian Club of Namur, WI. He was proud of his Belgian heritage and was overjoyed to visit the country of his origin.

Survivors include four children, Sandra (Charles) Augustine, St. Nazianz; Robert (Karen) Baudhuin, Slovan; Lisa (Bruce) DePeau, Casco; Sue (Wayne) Richardson, Green Bay; and one step-daughter Melanie (Dan) Barrington, Green Bay; 14 Grandchildren & 14 Great Grandchildren, Mitch (Gina) Augustine, children Bailey, Mac, Jordan, Menasha; Marcia (Brian) Siehr, son Vito, Racine; James (Nancy) Augustine, daughters McKenna, Gretchen, Madeline, Kiel; Jesse (Megan) Augustine, daughter Layla, Milwaukee; Rob (Tammy) Baudhuin, children Isaac, Isabel, Eli, Emmett, Slovan; Mike (Jen) Baudhuin, daughter Alexa, Germantown; Christine Baudhuin, daughter Emma, Slovan; Jacqueline Baudhuin, Slovan; Rebecca (special friend Logan Wiesman) Baudhuin, Slovan; Kim (fiancAC., Aaron Heim) DePeau, Casco; Danielle (special friend Zach Seidl) DePeau, Casco; Nick (special friend Alyssa Schauer) Richardson, Megan and Anna Richardson, Green Bay. Step-granddaughter Elizabeth (David) Summers, Washington D.C.

He is also survived by one sister-in-law Verne Baudhuin and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Harold was preceded in death by three sisters and brothers-in-law; Viola (Lawrence) Chaudoir, Blanche (Fabian) Junion; Mary (Joe) Counard; five brothers and sisters-in-law; Raymond (Jennie) Baudhuin, Lawrence (Grace) Baudhuin, Elmer (Neoma) Baudhuin, Fred (Marion) Baudhuin, John (Myrtle) Baudhuin; and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gladys Allen Pagel and Kenneth Allen. He was also preceded by one godson, Tom Chaudior, nephews Patrick Baudhuin, Alan Baudhuin, nieces Regina Watzka, Almere Baudhuin, nephew in-law Tom Collard, and niece-in-law Nancy Baudhuin.

Visitation will be held at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home in Casco on Tuesday, April 8, (TODAY) 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. with Deacon Bob Miller officiating. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning until 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Casco with Fr. Milton Suess officiating. Entombment will take place at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Online condolence messages may be shared here .
