Henry J. Tremble

Henry J. Tremble, 100, of Algoma passed away on December 25, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on September 12, 1912 to the late August and Emmerence (Gaspard) Tremble. Henry served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II and received the Bronze Medal of Gallantry while serving under General George Scott Patton in the Third Army. On November 12th, 1941 he married Elizabeth Deprez at St. Odile's Catholic Church in Thiry Daems. She preceded him in death on April 2, 1999. He worked at Algoma Plywood until his retirement. Henry enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, gardening, and woodworking, especially carving gun stocks. In his later years he also enjoyed bus trips to the casinos. Henry had a strong faith in his religion.

Henry is survived by one son Lylas (his friend Carey) Tremble; one daughter-in-law Debra Tremble (husband Jim Miller); seven grandchildren Adam (Lorie) Tremble, Sean Tremble, Matthew (Lynn) Tremble, Luke Tremble, Molly Tremble, Benjamin (Erica) Tremble, and Erin (Andy) Martin; 12 great-grandchildren Lexie, Hannah, Ethan, Cole, Delaney, Grayson, Gavin, Nina, Layla, A.J., Teddy, and Henry. Henry was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son Mark, one brother Ed (Mabel) Tremble, two sisters Mabel (Hank) Marcelle, and Annie Tremble, and seven brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Algoma on Saturday December 29, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Bill Switchenberg officiating. Full military rites will follow at church. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Wiesner and Massart Funeral Home of Algoma is assisting the family.
