Herbert Barbarian

Herbert Barbian Jr. age 73 of Kewaunee died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at home after a courageous battle with caner. He was born August 11, 1937 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Herbert and Myrtle (Olson) Barbian.

He married Faith Ann Thomas September 27, 1958 in Milwaukee.

Herbert worked for Consolidated Freight Ways for many years retiring in 1991 and immediately moved to Kewauee into his parents home on Alaska Lake. He was one of the top dart ball throwers and one of the world class English Dart throwers. Living on Alaska Lake, he enjoyed fishing in his retirement years wished for one more year on the deck fishing. His big love was his son, Butch and their times together.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years: Fait Ann; one son and fiance.: Herbert G. Barbian and Sheila, Kewaunee; five grandchildren: Anthony; Michelle; Nick; Twins, Michael and Nathen four great grandchildren: one sister: Thelma Mitchell, Kewaunee; one step brother: William Schmitz, Florida. He was preceded in death by his father and step-mother: Herbert and Bertie Barbian, one daughter:Dawn Marie Whiting; one step sister: Augusta Nowackie; two brothers-in-law: Bob Thomas and David Gerarden.

Friends may call at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee after 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 15 until the time of srvices. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Howard Batt officiating. Cowboy hats encouraged and bring your favorite stories to tell. An Irish Wake will he held at Jeff's Sports Bar at a later date to be announced in the paper.

Faith wants to thank Herb's family and many friends for their care and support. For that they will forever live in our hearts.
