Hilda M. Nicholas, 92, of Algoma passed away on September 6, 2013 at Algoma Long Term Care. She was born on March 25, 1921 in England to the late George and Edith (Baker) Wiltshire. She proudly served in the military in England. On September 5, 1945, she married William Garfield, Jr. in England. After moving to the United States, Hilda worked in Las Vegas as an accountant. In the late 1990's she moved to the Algoma area. She enjoyed being with family and taking trips to the casinos.
Hilda is survived by one daughter, Sharon Smith; her grandchildren Franklin (Holly) Synder, Sherry (Adam) Robledo; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Paula Byers, one brother, and two sisters.
Friends may call on Saturday September 14, 2013 at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home, Algoma from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. with Pastor Annie Tricker officiating. Online condolences may be shared here .
