Jacqueline C. (Mitra) Bertrand

Jacqueline (Jackie) Bertrand, age 83 of Kewaunee, died on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center.  She was born on February 27, 1935 in Chicago to the late Casmir and Lillian (Valentine) Mitra.

She married Charles H. Bertrand on May 12, 1957 and he preceded her in death on September 20, 1990.

She and Bert moved to Kewaunee in 1980 where they operated Bert’s Sign Shop.  In 1988 they moved to St. Croix, Virgin Islands and owned Sign Crafts in St. Croix.  They moved back to Kewaunee in1990.

Jackie enjoyed traveling, having garage sales and was an expert crocheter and quilter.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law: Perry & Karen Castrovillari, Chicago; Dana Bertrand, Kewaunee; Eric and Sue Bertrand, Kewaunee; two daughters-in-law: Michelle (Keith) Mehn, Kewaunee; Barbara Bertrand, Shawano; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother: Jerome (Monica) Mitra, Eau Claire; Jill Mitra, Wrightstown; six nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sons: Casey J. and Kurt C. Bertrand.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 15 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee until the time of Services.  A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m.  Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
