Jaxen J. Pagel, 14, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 7, 2025. He was born on November 11, 2010, to J.J. and Chase (Baugnet) Pagel. Jaxen was the nicest, sweetest kid you'd ever get to meet. He had an infectious smile that no matter how your day was going it just got you. He instantly became friends with just about everyone he ever met. He enjoyed helping people, and he always put other people's needs first. He has such a big heart and loved everyone. Whether it was a goofy pose for pictures, playing ball with his buddies, or enjoying time with his friends at the races, he was always enjoying life.
He got into fishing with his buddy Briggs and was instantly hooked. He loved traveling around all the ponds in Missouri and fishing the day away telling stories and laughing about the size of the fish they'd caught that day. He loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed going hunting with all our friends down in Missouri. He still holds the record for biggest buck in the family that he got at 10 years old! He always loved telling stories at deer camp and reliving some of the best moments.
He loved all his friends. He was so excited every year when baseball season came around. This past year was his best yet, coming up with some clutch hits and making plays in the outfield. Jaxen hated to lose but really enjoyed spending time with his team and his friends. He loved going to AJ's, Brody's, or Anakin's houses after the game to spend time with the guys and go play some wiffle ball.
Jaxen enjoyed spending time with his buddies at the farm. It didn't matter if it was picking stones or covering piles, he always looked forward to spending time and being part of the family farm.
Jaxen really loved his family. He wasn't the oldest child, but he was the oldest boy, and he acted as if he was everyone's Big Brother. He was always watching out for everyone, playing games with Jase, hanging out with Jaylyn, or helping Kiley and Kenton at their house. His smile and laughter warmed your heart. He's the best kid, and he loved his mom and his dad very much.
Jaxen is survived by his parents, J.J. and Chase Pagel; his siblings, Kiley (significant other Kenton), Jaylyn, and Jase Pagel; further survived by great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents; his grandfather, John Pagel; and his uncle Steve Witcpalek.
