Joan J. Sacotte

Joan J. Sacotte, 90, of Casco, passed away peacefully at Autumn Fields assisted living on Thursday January 6, 2022. She was born on June 24, 1931, to the late August and Ida (DePas) Vandermause. On September 29, 1948 she married Francis Sacotte at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dyckesville. Together they ran the family dairy farm in Casco for 41 years. Joan was a member of the Holy Trinity Altar Society. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, gambling, playing cards, and doing puzzles. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Joan is survived by her 5 children Nancy (Ken) Boucher, Anita (Mark) Mueller, Peggy (Larry) Johnson, Maria (Dan) Rueckl, and Paul (Anne) Sacotte; grandchildren Jenny (Rob) Kinnard, Sarah (Jamie) Conard, Alison (Jesse) Schley, Jessica Mueller, Adam (Angie) Mueller, Andrew (Stephanie) Mueller, Carrie (Ken) Seymour, Angie (Kevin) Neal , Valerie (Joe) Delebreau, Brain (Stacy) Rueckl, Ryan (Haley) Sacotte, Kaitlyn (fiancé Jon Judkin) Sacotte, and Steven Sacotte; great-grandchildren Trevor (Madelyn Pennings) and Carson Kinnard, Selina (special friend Colton) and Sophie Conard, Braeden and Hannah Schley, Adelynn, Brielle, Cadence, and Callum Seymour, Isaiah and Ava Neal, Caleb, Carly, and Celia Delebreau, Mason, Cami, and Hallie Rueckl, and Clara, Sam, William, and Annelise Mueller; and one great-great-grandchild Francis Pennings-Kinnard. She was further survived by one sister Erna (Wallace) Vandenhouten; one brother-in-law Larry (Bettie) Sacotte; and many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her husband Francis; parents August and Ida Vandermause; son Steven Sacotte, great-granddaughter Lindsey Conard; as well as brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, a private visitation will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Luxemburg, on Wednesday January 12, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Schuster officiating. Entombment will follow the funeral at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Kinnard Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
