Obituary

John L. Reinke, 92, Kewaunee, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in the same home he was born in. On April 11, 1934, John was born to the late John A. and Frances (Spitzer) Reinke. John graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1952. He served in the Army Reserves from 1957-1963.

John started a business with Kelly Tires while working on the family farm. He eventually took over the family farm and also started Reinke Equipment in 1960. He sold everything from snowmobiles to various farm equipment and services, starting with Clay Equipment and then adding a variety of other brands. John was known for his great work ethic.

Throughout the years, John was on various committees and boards in the county. He was a member of the Titletown Threshing Club, the Happy Hoppers, and the American Legion Post 29. He enjoyed polka dancing and the Lakeshore Tractor Rally. John found great enjoyment in dressing for the era and riding through parades with Judy in their 1921 Model T. One thing that John wanted for most of his life was steam engine. In 2004 his dream came true. He obtained a steam engine and after four years of work and restoration, it was up and running. A moment that he was very proud of. The steam engine was often seen at thresheree events and various steam shows.

John is survived by his wife Judy; his six children, Robert (Elizabeth) Reinke, Paul Reinke, Tom Reinke (Karen), Jeanne Reinke (Norm), John Reinke (Lori), and Mike Reinke; stepchildren, Tom (Debbie) Rabas, Lee Ann (Ken) Malechek; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

John was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Elaine (Engels) Reinke, who passed in 2020; brothers, Donald (Fran) Reinke and Reverand Francis Reinke.

A visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Agricultural Heritage Center, N2251 STH 42, Kewaunee.
