Joseph Lee Berkovitz

September 14, 1956 — June 26, 2021

Joseph Lee (Joe) Berkovitz, 64, of Green Bay formerly of Kewaunee, died of natural causes on Saturday June 26, 2021 at his home.  He was born on September 14, 1956, in Algoma to the late Frank J. and Edith (Bruemmer) Berkovitz.
He was a 1970 graduate of Holy Rosary Catholic School, a 1974 graduate of Kewaunee High School and a 1978 graduate of UW-Oshkosh with a BBA degree in finance.  He began his career working in banking and continued in that field until he switched to becoming a right-of-way manager for Data-Tel Communications, Michels Energy and recently retiring from Mid-State Consulting.
He married Suzanne Buchmann at Nativity Church in Ashwaubenon in August 1991.  Joe was a very avid sportsman.  He played collegiate baseball at UW-Oshkosh and amateur baseball with the Kewaunee Chiefs for over 15 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and having campfires with his family and friends.  Joe especially enjoyed following the Brewers, Packers, Badgers and Kewaunee sports, attending home Packer games for over 55 years.  He was most proud of his two sons and enjoyed following their athletic endeavors.
Survivors include his two sons, Austin (fiancé Heather Brown) of Green Bay, Matthew of USMA West Point, NY and the mother of his sons, Suzanne Berkovitz of Green Bay: Two brothers, Paul (Mary) and John “Hacker” Berkovitz of Kewaunee.  Nieces Jessica (Don)Finlayson, Goddaughter, Sara(Franky) Lemke, Danielle and Holly Berkovitz, Alison (Chris)Theabo, Goddaughter.  Nephews Ben Berkovitz and Chuck Buchmann. Also 5 great nieces.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Frank and nephew Kyle Berkovitz.
Friends may call after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday July 7 at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee until the time of services.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. by Msgr. James Dillenberg which will be live streamed at www.holyrosarykewaunee.com.  Go to “Parish” and click on “Watch this weeks Mass”.  Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery in Kewaunee.
