Joseph W. Glime , 89, of Algoma, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. He was born on May 26, 1933, to the late Joseph and Anna (Naze) Glime. Joe served in the U.S. Army and on July 16, 1955, he married his wife of now 69 years, Patricia Hurley at St. Mary’s in Algoma. He retired in 1998 as superintendent of the Algoma Utilities department. It is easy to say the thing that Joe enjoyed most was spending time with his family. He also enjoyed working in the yard and outdoor activities. He was a member of the Algoma Hunting and Fishing Club and a Charter Member of the Algoma Boat Club.
Joe is survived by his wife, Pat Glime; children, Mike (Jenelle) Glime, Mark (Carolyn) Glime; grandchildren, Eric (Kate) Glime, Celia Glime, and Welsey Glime; great-grandchildren, Marion (Matt) Wilcox, Brooklyn, and Vivian; brother, Byron (Elaine) Glime; sister, Lody Malouf; as well as by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna Glime; brother-in-law, Emil Malouf; and his mother and father-in-law.
Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church – Algoma, from 9:30 – 11:30 am Friday, April 14, 2023. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 am with Fr. Andrew Kurz officiating.
