Joseph Michael Krentz

August 28, 1951 — August 27, 2018

Joseph Michael Krentz joined the love of his life on August 27, 2018, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Joseph was born August 28, 1951 to Felix and Marilyn Krentz in Olivia, Minnesota. Joseph grew up in Hector, MN surrounded by family. He excelled in school and was a great football and basketball player, even in his older years he was still a bulldog. After high school Joseph joined the Navy and traveled all over the world.

While stationed in New York he went to a 5 and Dime and met the love of his life, Marilyn, working behind the counter. After many visits of buying wcigarettes and tic tacs she finally realized why he was there everyday to see her. Joseph and Marilyn were married February 26; 1977 in Pottersville, NY. Joseph and Marilyn traveled all over the USA in their many years of marriage, spending most of their time in Wisconsin and finally spending their final years together in Washington. hi

He enlisted in the Navy to serve aboard nuclear submarines during the Cold War.  He retired after a very successful naval career as Master Chief of the Boat Krentz.   Joe began a second career managing projects in nuclear power plants and other power producing facilities in the Midwest and Pacific Northwest.  He always enjoyed a challenge and liked hard work until his declining health forced him to retire.

Joe saw much of the world, but one of his very favorite places on the planet was Disney World.  He was a lover of all things Disney, and his family made frequent trips to Florida to visit.  Joe always made sure that everyone, from his elderly mother to his little great grandson, experienced the same magic that he felt.   Those of us who loved Joe will surely find him there, in the laughter of children and the warmth of the sun.

Joe and Marilyn loved their family and they had three children together. Joe is survived by his sister Kathleen, Joseph II (Abbey), Greg, Elizabeth. Four grandchildren, Victoria (Blake), Joseph III, Danielle, and Jared, and his two great grandsons, Ezra and Dominic. He also has two loving Daughters-in-law Pamela and Lydia.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Marilyn, his mother and father, and his Father in law Daniel Duffy and mother in law Joan Duffy. Joe is survived by his children, grandchildren and great grand children.

Joe was a wonderful man who was always willing to help where needed. He was able to spend the last two months of his life in Wisconsin surrounded by his family. Joe and Marilyn are now together forever, they are what true love really is. Instead of flowers, the family requests you donate to cancer research.

A special thank you to Unity Hospice, especially Gwen, Mo, and Stacy for the loving care they gave Joe in his last few days.
