Lawrence W. Conard , 91, Algoma, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017. He was born on September 3, 1926 to the late Florian and Anna (Hegnet) Conard. He married his wife of 68 years, Mary Ann LuMaye on June 28, 1949 at. St. Hubert’s Catholic Church, Rosiere. He worked at the Algoma hardwoods for 42 years, as a glue mixer.

Lawrence served in Korea as a member of the U.S. Army, was part of the Civil Defense group, VFW, Region Guard Patrol Man 522 from 1945-1946. He delivered the newspaper, worked at Kewaunee Enterprises, served on the Auxiliary police, delivered food to the elderly and enjoyed playing cards.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his children, Allan N. Conard (special friend Patti), Cletus J. (Lynn) Conard, Germaine (Lester) Paape; grand-children, Annette, Angie, Allan Jr. Tonya, Cory, Ryan, Kris, and Justin; 13 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Anna Mae Kirk, Theresa Annoye, Barbara Paul; brothers, Leonard (Faye), Alphonse (Candy), and David (Mary Ann); sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Conard and Rose Marie Conard. Mary’s side of the family, Gerald, Harold, Annie, Sister Gerald, and Nora.

Lawrence is preceded in death by his brothers, Francis, Florian Jr., Jimmy; sisters, Agnes (Jule) Fameree, Verna Mae, Cecelia Mae, Johanna; brothers-in-law, Gary Paul, Cy Annoye, and Otto Kirk; sister-in-law, Carol Conard.  Mary’s side of the family, James, Mildred, Leo, Lilly, Melvin, Harry, Joseph, Norbert, Maurice, Lawrence, Isadore, Bernard, Alice, August Jr., and Henry.

Visitation will take place at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home – Algoma, 1617 Flora Ave., Algoma, WI on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4-8 pm with a military service at 6:30 pm and a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum from 10-11 am on Friday November 10, 2017. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 am with Deacon Mark Hibbs.
