Lois J. (Reckelberg) Siegmund

Lois J. Siegmund, age 83 of Kewaunee went to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 surrounded by her family.  She was born on December 30, 1938 in Luxemburg to the late William Sr. and Martha (Mueller) Reckelberg.

After high school she worked for Mirro until marrying Kenneth Siegmund on July 12, 1958 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Montpelier.  He preceded her in death on May 4, 2014.

After raising her family, she worked as a CNA at the Kewaunee Health Care Center for over thirty years.  She was a long time member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Kewaunee and an active member of the Ladies Aid. She spent many hours volunteering at church, school, and with 4-H.  She belonged to the Red Hatters, Lois Club, the Sheepshead Marathon and Kewaunee Homemakers.  She was an avid baker, a great cook, and cheered on the Packers, Brewers and Badgers.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law: Lori and Kevin Kadletz, Pilsen; sons and daughter-in-law: Keith (Ziggy) Siegmund, Luxemburg; Brent and Ann Siegmund, Brookfield; loving grandchildren: Emma, Lexi, Ashlee and Ella; sisters and brother-in-law: Dorothy Tess; Phyllis (Bill) Erichsen, LaVerne Dax; brother and sister-in-law: Carl (Joyce) Reckelberg; sisters-in-law: Sally Reckelberg; Dolores Reckelberg; brother-in-law: Lyle (Lois) Siegmund, sisters-in-law: Ruth Siegmund, Sandy (Art) Schweiner and also many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her in-laws: Walter Sr. and Alma Siegmund; brothers: Harold (Bernice), William Jr., Gordon Recklberg; sister-in-law: Dolores Reckelberg; brothers-in-law: Harlan Tess and Leon Dax; brothers-in-law: Walter Jr. (Freida); John and Lynn Siegmund; sisters-in-law: Leona (Glenway) Breitlow; Marian (Melvin) Gaedtke.

Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 20 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Kewaunee until the time of services.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Matthew Sprunger.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at www.immanuellutherankewaunee.org

The family would like to give special thanks to Unity Hospice and the staff of Kewaunee Health Care Center for the care and concern that they gave Lois and her family.  They would also like to thank family and friends who assisted Lois with care and appointments.
