Lorraine E. (Herison) Srnka

April 10, 1919 — July 10, 2018

Lorraine E. (Herison) Srnka, 99, died on July 10, 2018, at McCormick Assisted Living in Allouez. She was born on April 10, 1919, in the Town of Lincoln, Kewaunee County, to the late Arthur and Amelia (Willman) Herison.

She attended Lincoln Grade School and graduated from Algoma High School in 1937. After graduation she worked for some time at the Kewaunee Court House. On October 2, 1940 she married Frank B. Srnka, Jr. at St. Peters Church in Lincoln. They purchased a farm in the Town of West Kewaunee and became members of Holy Rosary Church. They were blessed with eight children. When Frank reached retirement age, the farm was sold and they bought a home in Kewaunee. Lorraine secured a job at the Kewaunee Health Care Center where she worked for five years.

After Frank’s death on January 5, 1989, Lorraine had opportunities to go on many trips with family and friends. She loved to read until her macular degeneration progressed to limit her vision. She loved to be with her family playing various card games with them and her special friends and relatives.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sharon (Roger) Danbrova, Manitowoc, Sandy (Russ) Synhorst, Dauphin Island, AL, Gayle (Peter) Andre, Rosiere, Mary (Jerry) VanderKinter, Neenah, Carole (Kenneth Sr.) Larsen, Green Bay, Frank (Colleen), Green Bay, Steve (Linda), Kewaunee, and Robert (Linda), Neenah. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Leona (Matt) Theis, Elsie (Vincent) Hedquist, and Mary (William)Theis, Elfrieda (Harvey) Neinas, and Arlene (Harvey) Krueger; brother, Walter Herison; other relatives and friends.

Please join the family to celebrate her life on Saturday, August 18th, with visitation from 9 to 10:45 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kewaunee. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. James Dillenburg followed by burial in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.

Special thanks to all who remembered her with cards, letters, calls and visits, especially her nieces Karen Moore and Gladys Theis. The family wishes to thank her daughters-in-law, Colleen, Linda and Linda for all their help. And to the caregivers at McCormick Assisted Living.
