Louise M. Charles, 90, Kewaunee, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 6, 2026. She was born on August 2, 1935, to the late Tony and Alice (Christman) Swintosky.
She was particularly proud of the days walking from Birchwood to the one-room schoolhouse in Footbridge. She graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1953. She married Delbert Charles February 11, 1956, at St. Hedwig Church in East Krok. He proceeded her in death on December 20, 2019.
Louise spoke often of her years working at Doc Allen's Optometrist Office. Upon retiring in 1982, she spent her time doing the things she found enjoyable and rewarding. She spent many years hobby farming, supporting and cheering on local sports teams with Del. She was often seen tending to her garden, flower beds and mowing her large yard. She made it a point to wave to anyone who honked as they drove by whether she knew them or not. She always made time for and appreciated when friends and neighbors stopped by to visit. She took care of and loved all god's animals, especially the Cardinals that visited one of her many feeders.
She was an active lifelong member of Holy Rosary Parish.
Survivors include three children, Barbara Pribek, Meridian, ID, Jeffrey Charles, Maribel, Lawrence (Ann) Charles, Kewaunee; nine grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Deanne (Wayne) Zuege, Kewaunee, Donna (Bruce) Kieckbusch, Mishicot; brother-in-law Bob Wech, Green Bay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Lois Wech; father-in-law and mother-in-law Randall and Marie Charles; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joe and Delva Bouril.
Visitation will take place Friday, April 10, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Kewaunee. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. George Daniel officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
