Marjorie (Marge) Wessely, age 85 of Kewaunee died on Saturday, September 10, 2022. She was born on May 31, 1937 in Lark, WI to the late Anton and Alvina (Hennrich) Otto.
Marge graduated from East DePere High School with the class of 1955. She married Frank E. Wessely February 23, 1957.
She worked at various jobs in the Manitowoc area then moved to West Kewaunee on the family farm. When she was there, she attended N.W.T.C. for three years. She loved being self-employed remodeling and working on her apartment. She was active in the community, enjoying gardening (had fourteen varieties of hostas), enjoyed reading, working with the Friends of the Library and member of the Apartment Association of Northeastern Wisconsin. She was an avid environmentalist being a member of the Clean Water Action Council and other water related advocacies. She really loved taking care of her cats.
Survivors include Frank, her husband of 65 years; a daughter and son-in-law: Debra and Dennis Hodges, Sioux Falls, SD; Son, Frank A. Wessely, Manitowoc; daughter and son-in-law: Julie and Charlie Vesely, Andover, MN; six grandchildren: Mark Hodges, Sarah Hodges (Fiancé, Eddy Labin), Jacque (Cody) Meyer, Andrea (Brad) Hesse, Charles Vesely, Ben Vesely; one great grandson: Liam Hesse, a step great grandson, Wyatt Meyer. And special friend, Jean Berg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a great grandson: Evan Hesse, a brother: Bill (Lorraine) Otto; a sister: Alice (Bud) Herbst.
Friends may call after 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 22 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee until the time of services. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Dembinski officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
