Marie Meyer , 86, Sturgeon Bay, passed away on Friday March 4, 2011 at Door County Memorial Hospital Assisted Living.
She was born March 30, 1924 in Baileys Harbor to the late Bernard and Bertha (Guehldorf) Hafert.
Marie married Herbert (Rusty) Meyer in 1943 in Baileys Harbor. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1994.
She was a long time employee of Denny's Red Owl and also worked at the Algoma Pharmacy. Marie's hobbies included flowering, gardening, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by 2 daughters-in-law, Sue Meyer, Algoma and Susan Meyer (Gary Hollman), Sturgeon Bay; 6 grandchildren, Shelley (Steve) Pyscher, Sarah (Mike) Zimmer, Missy (Jordan) Whipple, Mike (Lisa) Meyer, Casey and Brett Meyer; 8 great grandchildren, Amanda, Alyssa, Abby and Steven Pyscher, Mitchell, Carter and Megan Zimmer, Mason Meyer.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert (Rusty) Meyer; 2 sons, Leo and Tom Meyer; a grandson, Tim Meyer.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 12, 2011 from 1 to 3pm at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, 1617 Flora Ave., Algoma. Funeral Service 3pm at the funeral home on Saturday with Rev. Reeder Herrick officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma.
