Marilyn (Penney) (Harmon) Parr

April 7, 1944 — July 5, 2021

Marilyn "Penny" Parr age 77 went to be with our Lord Monday eve. July 5, 2021. She was surrounded by her husband and friends. Penny was born in Tulsa Okla. to Max. and Mary Harmon. She married her husband Larry on May 20 1973 in San Deigo, Calif. She
Worked several jobs, as a witress, a dept. store clerk, even helped her husband run a motel before coming to Kewaunee. eventually Multiple Sclerosis prevented her from further employment but she refused to let it keep her down. She was active in the Community Congregational Church, singing in the choir,& serving as music chairman for many years. She sent out get-well, birthday and sympathy cards as needed to church members from the congregation and was a member of the church prayer chain. lnspite of her many physical problems, Penny tried to stay optimistic and uplifted by reading her daily devotions, having some quiet time with Jesus and always tried to find some humor in the day. When her eyes failed her due to pain and irritation from Sjogrens disease, it became difficult just to do day to day tasks. Penny and Larry had no children but they raised cats and loved them as their children. When they eventually needed to go to assisted living (Silver Leaf Kewaunee) it was only on the condition that Emily their cat could come too.

Penny is survived by her brothers Larry (Frances)Harmon,Arlington Tx., Barry (Caroline)Harmon, Dadeville, Al. and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Unity Hospice for their services and are extremely grateful to the staff at Silver Leaf and Kewaunee Health Care Center for the compassionate care given to Penny while there. Also thank you to Marcia HayesNP for the many years of medical care and also the loving heart felt care you gave her.

At Penny's request she will be cremated and there will be a small private grave side service with her husband and a few close friends.
