Mark Wautlet

November 14, 1946 — February 3, 2011

Mark Wautlet , 64, Algoma, died on February 3, 2011, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born November 14, 1946 in Algoma to the late Jake and Arlene(Sibilsky) Wautlet.

Mark graduated from Algoma High School in 1965, where he excelled in sports and still holds the all time scoring record in basketball. After high school, Mark attended UW Madison, where he played baseball, and UW Oshkosh. He served in the army reserves.

On July 8, 1972, he married Jane Novak at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kewaunee. They had a double wedding with Jane's sister, Laurel, and Irv Novotny.

Mark worked for many years at Community State Bank in Algoma and most recently at Graf's Mobil.

He loved all things sports and was an avid Boston Celtics fan.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jane; daughters, Sara(Paul) Breitenbach, Kohler, Mandy(Ryan) Kastner, Oconomowoc, Elizabeth Wautlet; grandchildren, Riley, Gabi, Grace, Reece, Max Breitenbach, Ella and William Kastner; sisters, Kay(Jack) Maedke, Amy(Jim) Connell; in laws, Laurel(Irv) Novotny, Jack(Merrie) Novak, David Novak, Charlie(Jayne) Novak, Lee(Vicki) Novak, Jill(Cam) Curtin; many nieces, nephews and cousins; uncle, Jim(Marion) Wautlet; aunt, LaVerne Maedke; his best friend, John Serrahn.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 1pm to 5:30pm at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, 1617 Flora Ave., Algoma. Memorial Sevice 5:30pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Mark's name.

A special thank you to Green Bay Oncology, Door County Memorial Hospital, Unity Hospice and John Serrahn for all of their special care. A thank you also to family, friends and neighbors for all of their help.
