Muriel Walther, 86, Sturgeon Bay, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 at Dorchester Nursing Home.
She was born July 12, 1924 in the Town of Ahnapee to the late Ernst and Frieda (Serrahn) Maedke. Muriel married Frederick Walther at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in 1942. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2006.
Muriel loved to write short stories, poems and songs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid Brewers and Cubs fan.
She is survived by her daughter and sons-in-law, Corynn (Gerald) VanZeeland, Birchwood, WI, Roger Miller, Brussels; 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lila (Robert) Olson; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Sharon Miller; grandson, Kim Hillmer; 2 sisters, Edith (Ben) Chemel, Marjorie Maedke.
Friends may call at Wiesner-massart Funeral Home, 1617 Flora Ave., Algoma on Wednesday, June 22 from 10am to 11:30am. Funeral Service 11:30am Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, Algoma.
