Norbert F. Vandertie, 79, Algoma passed away Nov. 1, 2011 at Algoma Long Term Care Nursing Home. He was born Dec. 5, 1931 in Misiere to the late Frank & Emily (Rankin) Vandertie.
Norbert married Kathleen Buhr Jan. 16, 1951 at St. Peter Catholic church in Lincoln. She preceded him in death July 29, 2006. Norb enjoyed camping and visiting with his friends.
He is survived by his children Jim(Gloria) Vandertie, Ken Vandertie and Mary(Don) Ross; 7 grandchildren, 13 greatgrandchildren, 2 brothers & sisters in laws, 4 sisters & brothers in laws, also many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be at Wiesner & Massart Funeral Home in Algoma on Thursday Nov. 3, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at St. Mary's Catholic in Algoma Friday Nov. 4 2011 from 10 to 11 a.m. Prayer service Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. at church. Fr. Bill Switchenberg officiating. Entombment at the Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
