Norman J. Dier

April 4, 1929 — March 3, 2013

Norman J. Dier, 83, of Casco, went to heaven on Sunday, the day of the Lord, March 3, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 4, 1929 in Lincoln to the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Fett) Dier. On June 27, 1959 Norman married Annabelle Sconzert at St. Peter Catholic Church in Lincoln. He was employed at Algoma Hardwoods for 50 years until retiring. In addition, Norman also owned a dairy farm in the town of Luxemburg. He took joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed vacationing in California. Norman was an avid woodworker and enjoyed making furniture and remodeling houses. He volunteered as a 4-H woodworking leader for many years. Norman was a devoted Catholic and he spent much of his day praying the rosary for everyone and especially liked to pay worship at the Chapel. It's most fitting that he went to heaven on the day of the Lord.

Norman is survived by his wife Annabelle; 2 children Doug (Ann) Dier, , Norma (Jerry) Cavil, both of Casco; 2 grandchildren Jill Jorgensen, and Michael Dier; 1 brother Mahlon (Jeanette) Dier; 1 sister-in-law Elaine Buck; 4 Goddhildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 brother Marvin (Grace) Dier; as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law Henry and Gladys Sconzert.

Visitation will be at Wiesner and Massart Funeral Home in Casco from 4 to 8 P.M. on Monday March 11, 2013. Rosary will be said at 6 P.M. Monday. Visitation will continue on Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9 to 10 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday March 12, 2013 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10:30 with Fr. Milton Suess officiating. Burial to follow in church cemetery. Online condolence messages may be expressed here .
