Norman Oshefsky, Jr, age 66, of (Rio Creek) Algoma, WI, lost his 10-year battle with cancer on July 6, 2023. AKA: Stormin Norman, Trapper, Mountain Man, Norman Jr was born on March 7, 1957, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay to the late Norman Sr and Carol (Lazansky) Oshefsky. Norman grew up in Ashwaubenon until the family moved to Rio Creek in 1973. Norman graduated from Algoma High School. His senior year the Algoma Football team became the 1975 Packerland Champs. Norm spent many years at the “warehouse,” unloading semis. Trapper says hello to all his old buds @ 451. In his early years, Norman bought a refrigerated truck called Norm’s Foods. He sold fresh shrimp, lobster, etc. with his good friend Burt Harding. He worked 22 years at Ft. Howard Paper Co. in the paper machine department, Good Ole #10. He married Joan Fitzgerald in February 1989. Together they had three children. Later divorced. Norman was the owner of Rio Creek Orchards. He started planting apple trees in 2006. Soon after, in 2008, the first asparagus was planted which turned into 9.5 acres. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter. In the last few years, he enjoyed his time fishing with children and grandchildren near his cabin in Mountain. Many good times spent up there with Uncle Bill Lazansky too; along with baseball tourneys in August. Trout fishing was high on his priority list. Many secret spots he learned from Uncle Bill. He really enjoyed tubing with his kids in the old Princecraft. Norman was an avid card player; especially Sheepshead with many friends. Norman and Lori enjoyed their time playing backgammon.

Norman is survived by his brother, Quin (Linda) Oshefsky; sister, Cathy (Brian Burke) Oshefsky; children and grandchildren, Alaine (Harrison) Dole, Ainsley and Henry; Brooke (Matt) Bowman, Beau, Sawyer, and Cooper; Eric (fiancé Emilee) Oshefsky.
