Ralph J. Kubsch, age 75 of Kewaunee died peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at the Atrium Care Center of Kewaunee after an eight year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on November 7, 1942 in Manitowoc to the late Reinhart and Elaine (Kleman) Kubsch.
He graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1960. He married Sharon Raduenz on June 29, 1963 at Holy Rosary Church and enjoyed fifty-five years of married life together.
Ralph and Sharon, along with his parents owned and operated Kubsch’s Tavern and Ballroom for thirty-nine years where they served many weddings and banquets. He worked as a carpenter and cabinet builder for Orvel Schultz Builders of Kewaunee, Peterson Builders and Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay. After retiring, he delivered the Green Bay Press-Gazette for ten years. For about five years he managed the Kewaunee Senior Village. His greatest hobby was charter fishing on Lake Michigan.
Survivors include his wife: Sharon; four children: Lisa LeRoy and special friend, David Tucker, Green Bay; Wendy (Ron) Diener, Kewaunee; Corey Kubsch, Kewaunee; Brian Kubsch, Denmark; five grandchildren: Courtney (Oliver) Cantu, Green Bay; Travis (Molly) Diener, New Berlin; Cody (Fiancé, Dani), Peshtigo; Tristan Tucker and Trenton Tucker, Green Bay; three great grandchildren: Jasmine Cantu, Olivia Cantu and Dominique Cantu; his mother-in-law: Marion Raduenz, Luxemburg; brothers-in-law: Dennis (Shirley) Raduenz. Green Bay; David (Sherry) Raduenz, Green Bay; Bill Raduenz, Algoma; Roger (special friend, LuAnn) Raduenz, Green Bay; Randy (Sherry) Raduenz; Gary (Bonnie) Kratz, Luxemburg; Sisters-in-law: Marla Dorn, Green Bay; Connie (Rev. Steve) Duescher, San Diego, CA two aunts: Rosie Kubsch, Ann Kleman both of Manitowoc and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law: Reuben Raduenz; sisters-in-law: Susan Kratz and LaVerne Raduenz.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kewaunee by Fr. Alvan Amadi. At Ralph’s request there will be no visitation prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
