Richard F. Smidel

March 10, 1947 — May 24, 2021

Richard Smidel, age 74 of Kewaunee died on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Algoma Long Term Uint.  He was born on March 10, 1947 in Kewaunee to the late Charles and Lillian (Repitz) Smidel.

He graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1965.  He farmed in the Town of Carlton for several years and started over the road truck driving.  He then returned to the farm and took care of his mother until she died.  In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting.

Survivors include three brothers: Leonard Smidel, Luxemburg, Carl Smidel, Kewaunee, Norbert (Kim) Smidel, Two Rivers; one sister: Winifred Janda, Kewaunee and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister: Mabel (Joe) Kinjerski, a sister-in-law: Jacqueline Smidel, brother-in-law: Roger Janda.

Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 28 at St. Isidore the Farmer Church, Tisch Mills until the time of services.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Dennis Drury officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Norman.
