Robert P. Schleis, age 71, founder of Bob’s Auto Parts, Kewaunee, died January 5, 2021 due to complications in his fight against cancer, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Bob married Diane Bolle, his “darling bride” of 50 years on September 26, 1970. They have 4 children: Shelly (John) Mellenberger, Shawn, Rob (Ashley), Autumn, and six grandchildren: Trevor, Tanner, and Trent Mellenberger, Ethan, Briella and Ava Schleis. Bob is further survived by his mother Evelyn Schleis, siblings Kathy (Myron) Pribyl, Bette (Ted) Anderson, Jim Schleis and Wendy (Rob) LaTour. Brother and sister-in-laws, David (Amy) Bolle, Dennis Bolle, Dean (Lisa) Bolle and Doreen (Michael) Voight, along with extended families. He was preceded in death by his father Gilbert Schleis, in-laws Francis and Dorothy Bolle, brother-in-law Dave Novak, sister-in-law Paulette Bolle and nephew Randy Pribyl.
Bob proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and then went on to found Bob’s Auto Parts where he took pride in putting his customers first. Bob enjoyed traveling with Diane in their RV, spending winters in Arizona, feeding his backyard birds and making people laugh with his quick wit and comebacks.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on January 23rd from 3 to 8 pm at the Heritage Farm, Kewaunee, honoring Bob’s memory. We welcome you to come share with us any memories or stories you may have of our beloved Bob.
