Robert (Bob) Cox

June 9, 1930 — December 23, 2020

Today, Wednesday December 23, 2020 my best friend and devoted loving husband, Bob Cox went to his Heavenly home to be with his Lord and Savior and a long 90 year journey it has been. He was born on June 9, 1930 to the late Robert and Helen (Scory) Cox.

Bob graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1948 and immediately enlisted in the U. S. Army and was discharged in 1950 and then served in the active reserves for thirty-nine years.

He married Lois Aude in 1948.  He worked at Leyse Aluminum Co. for many years and retired from Romo Inc. In 1992.  He was a very active lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kewaunee where he held numerous offices and spent many hours maintaining the Lords House.
Our earthly loss is Heaven’s gain as Bob’s faith that Jesus Christ died for all our sins and they are washed away by his death on the cross, he can today be assured Heaven is his home today.

He was a proud and active member of American Legion Post 29 of Kewaunee where he was a Past Commander.  He was not all work and no play.  He enjoyed belonging to several softball teams, bowling, playing dart ball for sixty-eight years, thanks to David Doden who was his Chauffeur at age 88.  Thanks also to Loren Smiley who always took him to golf at 88.  Skiing was his favorite going out West for several years with his good friend, Joe Novak, joined by a fun group from Kewaunee.  Bob and his wife, Lois spent eighteen years going South for three months away from the snow.

Survivors include his wife of seventy-two years, Lois; four children: BOB (LINDA) COX III of Hobart and their sons: Robb, Ryan and Jason (Kelly); TERRY (MONA) COX of Brillion and their children: Megan, Allison and Graem (Katrina); LORI (GREG) VANDEN BERG of DePere and their children: Brooke (JJ) Ferguson and Brett; CINDI (CHRIS) PALMER of Cornwald, VT and their children: Macy and Myles. Bob and Lois traveled far and wide to attend all the grandchildren’s events from grade school through college.  Fun years. Bob is also survived by one brother: Ken and wife, Ellen Brennan of DePere; two sisters: Jillaine Noonan of Milwaukee and Mary Paul Lake in the Hills, IL.  Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Helen (Cox) Brennan and R. W. Cox II, his mother-in-law and father-inlaw: Orme and Amanda Aude; one brother and sister-in-law: Don and Doris Brennan; 1 brother-in-law: David Paul and one niece.

Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Kewaunee until the time of services.  The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Matthew Sprunger officiating.  Full Military Rites will follow at the Church.  A private burial will take place on Tuesday at Riverview Cemetery.  Safety measures and social distancing will be encouraged.  If unable to attend, the service will  be live streamed at:  https://immanuellutherankewaunee.org.
