Roger W. Kuehl

Roger William Kuehl, 82, Kewaunee, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 20, 2025. Born on November 24, 1942, in Kewaunee to the late Alvin and Mildred (Kimpel) Kuehl, Roger lived a life full of love for the outdoors, a passion for sports, and a deep connection to his family and friends. He married the love of his life, Jean Ann DeGrave on August 19, 1978, at the Community Congregational Church in Kewaunee.

Roger enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved hunting, fishing, or taking leisurely walks on the beach, searching for that perfect piece of glass stone. He had a heart for nature, always making time to feed the birds and squirrels that graced his yard.

A devoted NASCAR, Packer, and Cubs fan. Roger spent countless hours cheering for his teams and favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. He had a nice collection of Jeff Gordon die-cast cars. He was also a dedicated player in the Kewaunee Dartball League, where he shot an impressive 40 years. On Fridays, he enjoyed heading over to Moe's Corner, enjoying a delicious fish fry.

Roger loved socializing with his daily ritual of gathering with his "coffee clutch" friends as well as making time for his lady friends at the Piggly Wiggly, always enjoying the camaraderie that came with those connections.

Roger is survived by his wife, Jean Ann (DeGrave) Kuehl; sons, Scott Kuehl (Wendy Vogeltanz), and Tom Kuehl (Kelly Kralovetz); brothers-in-law, Gary (Dianne) DeGrave, Hank (Wendy) DeGrave; sisters-in-law, Shirley Orde, Sue (Norman) Paplham, Florence Kaus, and Jean DeGrave; and bonus grandchild, Sebastian Sauter; as well as my numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Mildred (Kimpel) Kuehl; an infant twin brother David; sisters, Ruth (Arnie) Schroeder, and Gail (Jim) Jonet; father- and mother-in-law, Henry and Florence (Flavion) DeGrave; brothers-in-law, Calvin DeGrave, Myrell DeGrave, and Jim Orde; sisters-in-law, Laverne (Bernard) Kinnard, Donna (Norbert) Fonferek, and Phyllis (Dick) Greening.

A celebration of Roger's life will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Jeff's Sports Bar, N6010 Co Rd D, Kewaunee, WI 54216, from 11:00 an to 3:00 pm.
