Ruth Ann (Jerovetz) Koudelka

April 28, 1941 — August 12, 2022

Ruth Koudelka, age 81 of Kewaunee, formerly of Stangelville, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022.  She was born on April 28, 1941 in Kewaunee to the late John and Mary (Fabian) Jerovetz.

Ruth graduated from Beech Grove Grade School near Stangelville and then graduated from Kewaunee High School with the class of 1959.

On November 25, 1959 she married Leonard Koudelka and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2001. They farmed until Leonard retired.  Ruth then worked as a nurses aid for the Kewaunee Care Center until she retired.

She loved baking desserts, reading romance novels, playing bingo, watching birds at the feeder, watching Brewers and Packers with her friend, Mary.  She especially enjoyed watching her grand kids and great grand kids grow up.

Survivors include three sons and one daughter-in-law: Dean, Mishicot, Kevin and Lisa and Daryl both of Kewaunee; nine grandchildren: Samantha (Eric) Bertrand, Joe and Sam, Nick and Brianna, Shayna, David, Eddie and Carrie Anschutz, Holly and Brian Pallex, four great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Daytona and Greyson Bertrand, Aubree Koudelka, a niece, Bonnie (Dan) Vogel, a sister-in-law: Jean Fiala, close cousins, Carol (Joe) DeGroot, Dorothy (Gene) Rollins and Jerry (Jean) Rassmusson

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Edward and Adeline Koudelka, a sister, Mayme (Norman) Bartman, a brother, Robert (Dorothy) Jerovetz, two brothers-in-law, Donald Rassmussen and Joe Fiala, a nieces and nephews, Gene and Judy Jerovetz, Jeff and Jason Fiala.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 23 at St. Lawrence Church at Stangelville until the services.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Dennis Drury, assisted by Christal Wavrunek, Pastoral Minister.  Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.  A funeral lunch will follow in the church basement.
