Sandra A. Doperalski, 75, Kewaunee, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2023. She was born August 24, 1947, to the late Elmer and Caroline (Smith) Arians. On September 10, 1966, she married Peter Doperalski at Holy Rosary Church. Sandie was born and raised on a Kewaunee County farm and attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School, then graduated from Kewaunee High School, then attended the College of Cosmetology, and NWTI Jailer Training (now NWTC). She operated the Swamp Bar in West Kewaunee and then she worked at Kewaunee Nursing Home, as a part-time crossing guard, as an EMT on the Kewaunee Ambulance, and as a Kewaunee County Deputy Sheriff. She liked fishing at the cottage, camping, going on motorcycle rides, and gardening. Sandie liked to cook for the family and friends, traveling (especially to Alabama), boat rides, Polka Masses, watching hummingbirds at the feeders, she enjoyed the Badgers, Brewers, and Packers, as well as the Kewaunee Indians sports. And of course she enjoyed her dog Kookie.
Sandie is survived by her husband Peter; her three children, Brenda (Steve Rathe) Johnson of Sturgeon Bay, Bradley (Jolene) Doperalski of Kewaunee, and Barbara (George) Woodall of Salem, KY; grandchildren, Brent (Nicole) Johnson, Bradley Doperalski Jr, Kira Doperalski, Haley Duncan, Ricky Alvarez, and Brooke Dahl; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Elmer Arians Jr. of Overland Park, KS, Stuart Arians of Kewaunee; sister, Shirley Stitt of Kewaunee; two brothers- and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Caroline Arians; sister, Carol Strasburg; three brothers-in-law, and 2 sisters-in-law.
Visitation will take place at Kinnard Funeral and Cremation Services – Kewaunee from 4-8 pm on Tuesday July 11, 2023 with a prayer service at 7:45 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 9:30-11:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am with Fr. Andrew Kurz officiating.
