Sarah Ruth (Lauchle) Oswald

July 2, 1933 — February 23, 2022

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sarah Oswald, our loving and devoted grandmother, mother, and friend to all whose lives she has touched. On February 23 2022, she left us while sleeping peacefully at her home in Kewaunee, WI. She was in her 89th year.
Born and grew up in Downers Grove, IL, Sarah Lauchle was sister to Jean (Theodore) Brudniak, David (Alanna) Lauchle and Catherine Keyes. She found work as an executive assistant for Argon National Laboratory before finishing her career at Allen Paper Company in Chicago, IL. During the time spent at Allen, she met her loving husband Thomas Oswald, who had eyes for no other since that fateful day. Married on June 21st, 1975. Both retired 1984, purchased and moved to Kewaunee, WI to operate the Bouda Century Farm.

Sarah was the beloved mother of Lorna (Mike) Pike, Joyce (David) Enright and Sandra Schmitz. A proud grandmother of Michael (Samantha) and Christine Chandler, Brittany Enright, Mathew and Joseph Schmitz. A loving great-grandmother to nine; Tearsa (Noah), Jonathan, Annabelle, Lana, Evelyn and Courtney Chandler, Sophia and Betsey Johnson, and Breanna Anna Enright. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Thomas Oswald, parents Harold and Margarette Lauchle and brother David Lauchle.

Sarah lived a full life as a wonderful mentor. She loved to garden, sew, and was skilled at painting and drawing. To unwind you would find her reading, watching movies, playing Solitaire or listening to classical music. Most of all she loved her family and friends, instilled good values in her children and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

We would love to thank Leah, Crystal, Karen and Jessica from Unity Hospice for all their endless compassion and care. We would also love to thank Jaycey and Makayla for all the love, support, and care that they brought to Sarah in these last few months.

At Sarah’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
