Sharon A. Thayse

September 23, 1944 — September 15, 2024

Sharon Ann Thayse, 79, Casco, passed away on September 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 23, 1944, to the late Edwin and Mary (De Namur) Gilson. On June 14, 1960, Sharon married the love of her life, Gary Thayse at St. Hubert's in Rosiere. In the early years she worked at Marchant's Food in Brussels, and then after they purchased the Thayse Family Farm from Louis and Elizabeth Thayse, she farmed alongside Gary, plus raised their five children. She was the organist for St. Hubert's Church for many years. She enjoyed snowmobiling, cutting lawn, playing softball, and music. She loved our Annual Thayse Family Week in St. Germaine. Sharon's pride and joy were her 10 grandkids and 13 great-grandchildren, they always put a sparkle in her eye.

Sharon was a woman of deep faith with an enduring work ethic. She was never afraid of work and was always willing to engage in all aspects of running the family farm. As Gary worked out at the paper mill, driving school bus, and 27 years on the county board, Sharon cared for the farm.

Sharon is survived by her husband Gary; her children, Lori (Mike) Hucek, Luxemburg, Todd (Debbie) Thayse, Forestville, Greg (Cheryl) Thayse, Forestville, Jamie Thayse, Casco, Kim (Gary) Gomand, New Franken; grandchildren, Stacy (Eric) Eastman, Katie (Tom) Lowery, Kyle (Cori) Thayse, Cory (Cindy) Thayse, Kailyn (Nate) Jauquet, Justin Thayse, Brandon (Hailey) Thayse, Madysen (fiancé Trevor) Thayse, Max Thayse, Dylan (special friend Callie) Gomand; great-grandchildren, Lydia (special friend Garrett) Haen, Ella and Nora Eastman, Charlotte and Sawyer Lowrey, Morgan DeJardin, Harper & Greyson Thayse, McKenzie & Kaylie Thayse, Jamison, Myles, and Henry Jauquet; sisters, Rita Everard, Casco, and Marilyn Carpenter, De Pere; and sister-in-law, Jean Thayse, Casco; also survived by nieces and nephews.
